Our coverage of the Signature Stay-cations continues with a trip to the Corvette Museum with Signature Healthcare of Bowling Green, Signature Healthcare of Clarksville, Signature Healthcare of Hillcrest, and Hermitage Care and Rehab. Upon arrival to the museum, the communities were told “the story of the sinkhole,” given a brief orientation, and history.
In 1994, the Corvette Museum opened and it’s the only facility in America dedicated to a single model of car. The museum is also home to the One Millionth Corvette which was donated by Chevrolet. The Corvette Assembly Plant is located across the street from the museum, and our residents saw a brand new Corvette leave the floor to go to its new home.
They clapped and cheered as the car drove off the showroom floor. The residents learned about 70 different models of the ‘Vette, facts about the production, and checked out the videos and memorabilia. There was a wealth of knowledge shared, and the residents and staff soaked it all in. One of our residents even got the chance to sit in the driver’s seat of one of the cars!
The crew had a great time and they are looking forward to go back in September when the “Sinkhole” display is open for touring. Maybe they’ll get a chance to take one of those ‘Vettes for a whirl around the block next time!
Doesn’t hurt to dream, right?
